Story of the day
Welshpool Library is not just about books. It is about access to information (notice board, exhibitions). It is about access to the internet and e-mail (useful when one’s home PC is away for repair). It is handy for a range of newspapers, and refreshments and toilet facilities are a bonus. Whilst I personally feel that a library should be a quiet place I accept that encouraging children to utilise the facilities is good in the long term. All the staff are very friendly and helpful, and it is really nice they know the regular customers by name - they always find time to exchange a few words. Roger, the librarian, runs a very successful and stimulating reading group, which meets monthly.
